At Suncoast Chiropractic Clinic, we’re proud of our state-of-the-art equipment. And the jewel in our chiropractic crown is our on-site digital x-ray machine. Yet sometimes we are asked why taking x-rays of your spine is needed, especially when other chiropractic clinics don’t do this.
We’re happy to explain why x-rays are an essential part of treating our patients. Let’s look at 5 reasons why x-rays are the first important step on your journey toward a pain-free life.
- Finding the root cause
For us to clearly understand your condition or injury, we need to take a close look at what’s happening under the surface.
Using x-rays, we can find the cause of your pain or discomfort, rather than focusing on your symptoms. This means that we can pinpoint the exact source of pain, whether it’s a misalignment or injury to the back or neck.
- Developing a treatment plan
Once we know what’s causing the problem, we can develop a treatment plan to address this most effectively. We take what we have learned from the x-ray to determine the appropriate treatment. The x-ray information will allow us to decide on the type, frequency, and intensity of treatment that will help the most.
- Becoming aware of any issues
Before we proceed with your treatment, we need to be aware of any spine issues. You may not be aware of these issues, as they could be preceding conditions or complications. We also need to be aware of any abnormalities that may have resulted from a car accident.
Since every spine is unique, an x-ray can help us see bone spacing and density. We can see minor compression fractures of spine vertebrae from an old fall, bump, sporting injury, or compensatory spinal curvature from long-term sacrum or pelvic misalignments.
X-rays are also useful in highlighting any cancerous spots, fractures, or bone spurs. We would need to be aware of these issues before we start working with you.
- Demonstrating progress
Before and after x-ray images are a helpful way to show that you are progressing in your treatment. It’s the ultimate way to demonstrate that we have resolved an issue for you.
- Proceeding with confidence
Once we have completed the x-ray, we can confidently move forward with your treatment, safe in the knowledge that we have a clear picture of what’s going on with your spine and how we are going to resolve it. Safety is our top concern.
Modern and effective
Our method is straightforward: we examine our patient, diagnose and discuss the problem, and put together a tailored treatment plan. Our clinic uses modern equipment to provide the most effective treatment.
Many chiropractors adjust you without first taking an x-ray, but we strongly believe that it’s a dangerous practice to adjust someone without first having a clear picture of what’s going on.
Diagnostic testing is the first step in getting our patients well, allowing us to see the internal layout of the body. For us, x-rays are an essential part of our practice approach and a wonderful diagnostic tool.
When we work with you, we focus on restorative chiropractic care. This means that we eliminate not just the pain, but the source of the pain. Our goal is to restore the proper function of the spine and nervous system, giving our patients the freedom to live a full and healthy life.
Pain management and maintenance are our specialties, and Dr. Albert E Andrion, Dr. Doug Reitz, and all of the team here at Suncoast Chiropractic Clinic are here to get you back to a pain-free life.
